a bit about me…
Creating has always been a large part of my life. From writing short stories, dancing, painting, music… I have always adored daydreaming up my own little world and turning that that magic feeling into something tangible. I am largely drawing on themes surrounding the collective unconscious, surrealism and mysticism. I am greatly inspired by art nouveau and traditional Japanese ink, creating motifs that feature sinuous curves and natural subjects. I gravitate towards working in watercolor and traditional ink because of the medium’s versatile and fluid nature. I find working with watercolors is like meditation because of its unruly tendency, teaching me to find and depict balance between harmony and chaos. Each work typically starts as smaller scale work in my sketchbook, but at other times it takes form on the final page with little research or planning, as it becomes a channel of higher communication between the artist and the collective. My goal is to invite viewers to connect with my work by connecting with themselves.
I am currently located in Kansas City, Missouri. All of my prints are made locally!
